Introducing Daniel Levett, Technology Lead at Tickovate. Experienced developer, skilled in creating software solutions that scale and deliver a polished user experience.
What excites you the most about working for Ticknovate?
I love working with determined people who dive deep into every issue that they're trying to solve. Everything is meticulously thought through, and each team member brings a unique perspective to the table. The thorough planning means that Ticknovate as a system has very solid foundations and a clear set of goals and principles, which means we can move quickly where it matters.
It's satisfying to see hard work pay off, and the results speak for themselves!
What is your biggest achievement at Ticknovate?
The ForSea launch. The calm, seamless switchover from the old system to Ticknovate was so smooth, it was almost an anti-climax; exactly as it should be. It speaks volumes to the level of preparation done on both sides, by both ForSea and Ticknovate, that such an integral part of their system could be switched out without any disruption.
In your opinion, what is the best feature of the Ticknovate platform?
The architecture. There is a clear separation between the core Ticknovate implementation, and the extension points where it interacts with other systems. As such, we have been able to deliver many integrations, including online travel agents like TourCMS, business intelligence tools like QlikView, and payment providers like SagePay, WorldPay and Nets Easy payments.
In a recent project, we integrated with a client's existing self-service ticket scanning machines and accounting systems without touching a single line of core Ticknovate code - it was all delivered using our core web API. This is powerful. It means Ticknovate is part of a greater ecosystem, without introducing complexity into the core of the system.
Also, the mindset of the team, who value doing things correctly. I’m confident that we’ll continue to deliver exciting new features whilst keeping the core system lean and rock-solid.
